Hot day, hot cars!!
(Photos and results posted below this summary)
This year was all sun and fun from the time we arrived to set up. Early birds were there a little before 8am to get things wiped down and ready for the day. With coffee and doughnuts ready to go we had all of the "big kids" gassed up and ready to go by 10am with a few late arrivals joining us. There were a total of 85 cars at the show this year which met the goal we set while putting this second installment together. Thank you Big Al's for hosting again.
There She Goes was jamming out tunes for us again this year, always a treat. We also had several show sponsors on hand to pick their favorites for the sponsor awards. Thank you to all of our show sponsors, donors, and volunteers - there is no way we could have made it this year without you!!
Judging and voting went from 10am until about 1pm and it was quite the process this time around with almost double the awards from the year before. We also had official point judging and sponsor selections which were nice additions to the format.
Like last year we had a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and an expanded kid zone with more activities for our little racers that joined us. Rose City Clowns also had members on site for face painting and balloon twisting which was a very welcome addition too - thank you guys so much for coming.
Overall it still felt like the same warm, close-knit, family environment that we had last year while adding more vehicles and more people - which was our goal. I saw lots of smiles, laughter, and fun which is an important element of our show. I'd say mission accomplished!!
Thank you to all of the show participants, it means a lot to have you come and spend your time with us and we sincerely hope you will be back to join us again next year. For those that were with us again this year - thank you again for supporting our cause and our show. We'll have some more changes in store so stay tuned for 2014 show information.
